Two-Sentence Pitch:

Island Off Outer Darkness is an Interactive Fiction Walking Simulator ("Narrative Delivery Simulator") where you deliver packages and talk to people over the course of half a year in-game (as well as fish and garden). IOOD has recieved significant praise for its realistic character writing and complex art.

Description:

Island Off Outer Darkness follows the narrative of the Postman, a resident Postal Worker new to a small fishing village in Antarctic waters off the coast of a volcano (the titular Outer Darkness). They start new to the job, and must deliver packages to residents day-by-day, week-by-week. As they learn more about the island and its townsfolk, aberrations in space begin to appear. More broadly, Island Off Outer Darkness is an exploration of the grief of community collapse and personal withering. Featuring a 31-track OST by CalamityRhapsody and visual artistic work by several people, Island Off Outer Darkness is the story of this town, and these people.

Ethos:

Island Off Outer Darkness was built in the cooling aftermath of the withering and destruction of Rowdy Fuckers Cop Killers' ENDLESS WAR, a MUD that I was a member of and developed for and community managed and administrated. From that, partly as an exorcism, partly as autofiction, partly as the desire to tell a story about RFCK, and its people, Island Off Outer Darkness was gruelingly crafted through an arduous and tumultuous year-and-some-change development period (as well as about 6 months of post-launch support to polish it up). The end result is a dense, long, slow, atmospheric, difficult, hard-to-describe work which many people have enjoyed greatly. I, Zug, struggle talking about it, because it's so all-consuming and... "exorcised", that I don't even know how to scope it in my mind. It's the story of everything, to me, and I hope I captured it, and I think I did in part.

Assets and Guidelines:

Official logos, key art, and character art are available on the IOOD Resources page. When shown together, the primary logo and key art should, when possible, use the official combination png. Otherwise, the logo shown on top of the key art MUST be the third, detailed one ("logo3diff"). With just the logo against a dark backdrop, "logo3diff" should be utilized. With just the logo against a bright backdrop, "logo2" should be used. "logo" should only ever be utilized within a usecase where a white, monocolor logo is required.

The game's entire original soundtrack can be downloaded here. Songs may be utilized however you see fit specifically for showcasing the game/promotion.
